We will travel from Toronto to Madrid, Spain and spend a few days there exploring the city before flying south to the island of Tenerife. The Canary Islands are south of mainland Europe (about the same latitude as Olrando FL) and we are expecting some fairly moderate temperatures both day and night as they are surrounded by ocean. We have about two weeks on Tenerife and are then taking a short hop flight to Gran Canaria for another couple of weeks. From there it is back to Madrid and a return to Toronto the next day.
We have spent the last week making lists and checking off items in preparation for departure tomorrow. Lots of things to look after this time of year including bringing in all of the outdoor stuff at home and making sure it is ready for some possible cold weather.
The boat came out of the water yesterday in the rain (yuck!) and also required winterization which was completed today in slightly better weather.
Clothing has been selected and packed for relatively light weight travel. One rolling duffel bag each, a backpack and a camera bag. We are hoping that the effects of the hurricane that hit Portugal this weekend have dissipated by the time we arrive! As usual, we have looked after planning and booking all of our accommodation, flights and rental cars ourselves and are looking forward to our next adventure. I think every place we are staying (mostly apartments) has good internet and I will be able to update be blog daily.
